♻️ PARIS PLASTIC: In a historical first for any Olympic games, a company called Le Pavé is creating all the athlete podiums out of 100% recycled food containers. Additionally, 11k bleacher seats are being crafted from old shampoo bottles and multicolored bottle caps. The Paris Olympic committee "has pledged to make these Olympic Games the greenest in history."

☀️ CHINESE CAPACITY: China "has double the amount of renewable capacity under construction compared to all other countries combined," says a new report from Global Energy Monitor. Click here to see an illustration of China's solar and wind power in construction against output of countries like the US and Brazil. "Currently, wind and solar are making up around 37% of (China's) total power capacity, and coal makes up around 39%."

🐝 BEE'S NEEDS: Developing research has concluded these five flower varieties are what the bees need more of to thrive, citing "ideal protein-to-lipid ratios in pollen for wild bee nutrition." Pollen was studied from 57 native North American plant species. ☕️ FOREVER FOOD CHEMICALS: What do white rice, coffee, eggs, and seafood have in common? People who ate more of these showed higher levels of toxic PFAS in their plasma and breast milk. "The study checked samples from 3k pregnant mothers, and is among the first studies to suggest coffee and white rice may be contaminated at higher rates than other foods," the article states. (Riana and I aim to be conscious of coffee contaminants in our household, and love drinking Purity coffee— one of the most rigorously tested and cleanest coffees in the world.)

It’s one of the most powerful antioxidants providing various health benefits, such as reducing oxidative stress, supporting skin health, and enhancing exercise performance.
