9/9/24: šŸ’ My wedding day, Blue Mind, and Hollywood rat

Happy Monday my friend,

šŸ’ Today, I get married! Riana and I are eloping in a national park witnessed by our immediate family. It felt right for us to keep it small, sacred, and connected to nature. I wish everyone reading had the pleasure of meeting Riana, because she would brighten your soul and inspire you as she does for me every single day.

**If youā€™re married, please hit reply to send your best nuggets of wisdom for a loving, lasting relationship (weā€™ll compile some to share anonymously). Otherwise, say a prayer on behalf of our love today. Iā€™ve patiently waited for this partnership my entire life. Thank you for allowing us ā€“ and the Earth Conscious mission ā€“ into your inbox every week. ā¤ļø

My proposal in October 2022

MONDAY MOTIVATION

šŸŽ„ BE THE CHANGE: Learn about Hollywoodā€™s Shailene Woody, best known for her roles in Big Little Lies and the Divergent series, and how even at age 32 she has dedicated much of her life, work, and resources to protect ecosystems ā€” including in protest of the Dakota pipeline and changes to the seafood industry! Her recent docuseries, Hope in the Water, is a perfect way to learn more about her battle and her ethos.

šŸ§‘ā€šŸ³ RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Disneyā€™s Ratatouille remains an enduring classic. If youā€™ve ever wanted to try your hand at this Southern French favorite, check out this healthy recipe for ā€œDisneysā€™ Ratatouilleā€ - It may shock you how delightfully simple it is to make despite a fancy name. Itā€™s even easy for kids to learn! Now you have a fun (and healthy) movie and munchies night planned for the whole family (as always, sub out anything that doesnā€™t align with your particular dietary goals).

šŸ„” SUPERFOOD SPOTLIGHT: While chips and poutine arenā€™t the best way to enjoy this superfood, scientists suggest that the humble potato might be an excellent superfood for those with blood sugar and type 2 diabetes! I know, I know ā€“ everything is being called a ā€œsuperfoodā€ these days. But potatoes with skins are shown to be rich in fiber, resistant starches, and loads of potassiumā€”even more than bananas. And a recent study showed type 2 diabetics who consumed potatoes regularly showed benefits to their waistline and resting heart rate.

šŸŒŠ MIND: Ever wondered why so many find peace near rivers, lakes, or beaches? Itā€™s not a coincidenceā€”science is sussing out real connections between the mind and water, and how being near bodies of water subjectively boost creativity, calm, and more. Read about the concept of the ā€œBlue Mind,ā€ and how just looking at water could lower blood pressure, heart rate, anxiety, pain, and other things.

šŸ‹ļø BODY: For some people, finding a ā€œgrooveā€ with exercise is key to making it a solid part of oneā€™s lifeā€”and to feeling the full benefits, such as increased fitness and optimal weight. But, instead of focusing on quality or even quantity when it comes to exercise, read about how experts suggest multiple body movements instead, and as many in combination as possible: such as dancing, walking, training, stretching, sports, and more.

šŸ§˜ SPIRIT: Have you heard of the 10-15-10 Mantra for a better spiritual life? Check out this meditative approach that totals up to 35 minutes per dayā€”only 35!ā€” and how it can restructure your entire day to find better access to joy, stress relief, creativity, spirituality, and more at any passing moment. What exactly can make all that happen in just 35 minutesā€¦ ? Well, youā€™ll have to read about it and find out!

šŸ“½ļø Heal yourself with Nature [watch TOMORROW]

Knowledge is power.

But in this age of information we have more knowledge than everā€¦and yet weā€™re sicker than ever.

So perhaps itā€™sā€¦ the RIGHT knowledge is power.

Tomorrow at 9pm Eastern, is the screening of a powerful documentary:

This isnā€™t about some simple folk medicine approach to help you get over a cold (even though thatā€™s also covered).

This is transformational health knowledge - and itā€™s all applied in your kitchen

Yes, it covers common diseases, and youā€™ll discover plant-based recipes and formulas for stress and anxiety. It will empower you with simple answers to many diseases of our time.

But itā€™s about MUCH more than that.

Nick Polizzi has been a mentor filmmaker to me, and his documentary unveils breathtaking revelations about the power of our bodies to heal themselvesā€¦ and how this ability can be aided and sped up by eating the right medicinal foods.

Youā€™ll discover a new perspective on the control you actually have, to write your own story, when it comes to your health and well being.  And how to use it every day.

This knowledge will stay with you the rest of your life.

THIS knowledge is power.

And it all starts Tomorrow at 9pm Eastern.

Iā€™m a huge fan of this series and this is the FINAL reminder to register HERE for Healing Kitchen: Let Food Be Thy Medicine.

To a healing future,

ā€” Rob

P.S. I may write a more in depth article on our wedding day and everything we did to keep it grounded and as eco-friendly as we could. Iā€™ll likely wait until we get some photos back so I can share those as well! Would that be something you would find interesting?
