MONDAY MOTIVATION

🌎 BE THE CHANGE:  Meet The Plastic Bank, a global social enterprise tackling ocean plastic pollution. Their model helps people in underserved communities as they collect plastic waste, which is then turned into products or recycled. With incentives, this model not only helps reduce plastic in the oceans but also creates jobs and boosts local economies. This organization proves that we can address environmental issues while helping communities thrive at the same time. It’s a reminder that innovation and compassion can go hand in hand to solve global problems.

🥗 RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Today’s recipe is a delicious Buddha Bowl. Start with a base of cooked quinoa or rice, then add roasted sweet potatoes, sautéed kale, avocado, and chickpeas or the protein of your choosing. Drizzle with tahini dressing, and you have a nutritious, filling meal that’s packed with fiber, protein, and healthy fats. As with all meals, this bowl is customizable to your liking, so add your favorite veggies or whatever you’re craving to make it your own. It’s the perfect way to power up your day with wholesome ingredients.

🌾 SUPERFOOD SPOTLIGHT: Maca Root is a powerful adaptogen that comes from the Andes in Peru. Adaptogens are known for mood-balancing or stress reducing properties. Maca is often used in smoothies or energy bars and is loaded in vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It can support mental clarity and overall health, so add a teaspoon of maca powder to your morning smoothie, or sprinkle it on oatmeal for an extra boost. It’s a simple way to add more energy and vitality to your day.

🧠 MIND: You’ve heard it a gazillion times, but practicing deep breathing for just a few minutes each day is medicine! It can genuinely improve your focus, mental clarity, and mood. Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, holding for a moment before exhaling slowly through your mouth. If this sounds too simple, then do it anyway! We all need to take active roles in reducing stress, and sharpening our minds. Incorporate it into your daily routine to set a peaceful tone for your day.

🌿 BODY: Stretching is another underrated gem, and a great way to start your day! It obviously improves flexibility, but also reduces muscle tension, and gets your blood flowing. If you’re a beginner, just try touching your toes, reaching for the sky, or rotating your neck. You can stretch for even just five minutes, and you’ll feel more relaxed and energized. Stretching can also help reduce stress and improve posture. It’s an easy habit that makes a big difference. Use THIS guide if you need a starting place!

💖 SPIRIT: Take a gratitude walk. As you walk, focus on all the things you’re grateful for. Gratitude has changed my life, and can changes yours too. Be thankful every day for your health, loved ones, nature, or even small things like a warm cup of coffee. Gratitude walks are a simple way to boost your mood and deepen your connection to the world around you. Plus, they’re a great way to clear your mind.

What’s Really in Your Greens Powder?

I’ve tried a lot of greens powders over the years. Some tasted like grass, others were loaded with “proprietary blends” that made me wonder what I was actually drinking.

So I started paying attention to what’s inside. Turns out, not all greens are as clean as they claim. Dark leafy greens are especially prone to accumulating heavy metals — so using USDA-organic greens in your supplement isn’t optional if you care about purity.

That’s why I put Ora’s Easy Being Green in my smoothie every day. It’s made from 20+ organic greens from land and sea, plus adaptogens and prebiotics to support digestion and stress relief. Unlike many greens powders that use sucralose to mask the taste, this one does not. (Some studies have linked sucralose to gut imbalances and even potential cognitive decline, so watch out for it).

Every batch of Ora is third-party tested for purity and safety — making this the greens powder to go for if quality actually matters to you.
