☠️ Banned in 60 countries, coconut soup, a sensory walk

Inspiration, recipes, superfood, and tips for mind, body, and spirit

Happy Monday my friend,

If you’ve been an ECL reader for a while, you know I almost never ask for help with a petition – but this time it’s different. My friends at Moms Against Pesticides are working to rid our land and bodies from one of the worst pesticides which is already banned in over 60 countries. Your voice matters in stopping the poisoning! It takes less than 30 seconds to be part of this movement with me. Learn more HERE. ⬅️

MONDAY MOTIVATION

Left to right: Ryan Wirick, Vandana Shiva, Rob Herring

🌎 BE THE CHANGE: Say hello to Dr. Vandana Shiva, an Indian environmental activist and eco-feminist who’s been fighting for farmers’ rights and sustainable agriculture for decades. She founded Navdanya, a movement to protect seed diversity and promote organic farming. Her work has helped thousands of rural communities reclaim control over their food systems, standing strong against big corporations. In a world full of quick fixes, Dr. Shiva reminds us that true change begins at the roots.

🥗 RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Feeling chilly? Try this Spiced Lentil and Coconut Soup. It’s creamy, comforting, and ready in under 30 minutes. Sauté onions, garlic, and ginger in a pot. Add red lentils, turmeric, cumin, and veggie broth. Once the lentils soften, stir in a can of coconut milk and a squeeze of lime. Top with chopped cilantro and red pepper flakes. Serve with warm bread or over rice. It’s plant-based comfort in a bowl, easy, wholesome, and freezer-friendly too.

🥦 SUPERFOOD SPOTLIGHT: Let’s talk about baobab fruit. Yep, it comes from the “upside-down tree” in Africa. Baobab is loaded with vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, and has a natural, tangy, citrus flavor. You’ll usually find it as a powder. Stir a spoonful into water, smoothies, or even sprinkle it over fruit bowls. It’s great for digestion and gives your skin a glow from the inside out.

One of the worst hormone disruptors

There’s a pesticide so toxic it’s banned in over 60 countries — yet it’s still the second most used in the U.S.

It’s called Atrazine, and it’s not just harming ecosystems — it’s contaminating our drinking water and disrupting human hormones. Studies link it to cancer, birth defects, and infertility.

Even worse? The EPA’s current “plan” would leave 99% of polluted waterways unprotected.

We can’t accept that. Not for our kids, not for our health, not for this planet.

If you’ve seen The Need to GROW, you know this fight is personal to us at Earth Conscious Life.

📣Take 30 seconds to demand an Atrazine ban.

🧠 MIND: Ever catch yourself clenching your jaw or tensing your shoulders without realizing it? Here’s a quick mental reset: take 3 deep breaths, drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and close your eyes for 10 seconds. Tiny tension habits build up, especially during stressful weeks. Let this be your sign to relax your body and let your brain breathe. Check out these quick mental reset tips.

🌿 BODY: This week, try a new kind of walk: a sensory walk. Instead of walking with music or your phone, leave your ears open. Listen to the wind, feel the ground under your feet, and notice the smells around you. It’s walking as meditation, and it turns even a 10-minute stroll into a way to recharge your body and clear your mind. Movement doesn’t always have to be about steps or speed; it can just be about presence.

💖 SPIRIT: Ever tried writing a “thank‑you letter” you never send? Pick someone who shaped your life, maybe a teacher, a grandparent, or even a childhood friend you lost touch with. Write them a heartfelt note about what they meant to you. Seal it, tuck it away, and feel the lift. Gratitude doesn’t always need an audience; sometimes the act of expressing it is the real gift.
