🐿️ CREATURE FEATURE 🐿️

The Gerenuk

The gerenuk, also known as the “giraffe gazelle,” is a striking antelope found in the arid savannas of East Africa. With its elongated neck, the gerenuk stands out from other antelope species, often browsing upright on its hind legs to reach leaves inaccessible to most grazing animals. This remarkable adaptation allows it to thrive where tall shrubs and acacias dominate the landscape. Dive into the unique world of the gerenuk with these 15 fun facts.

Solitary or in small groups, the gerenuk spends much of its time feeding, able to go for long stretches without drinking thanks to moisture absorbed from its diet. Its senses and camouflage enable it to evade predators in open terrain. Conservation groups are working to safeguard East Africa’s distinctive wildlife. You can learn more about the gerenuk and its ecosystem from African Wildlife Foundation.

Into the Compost Industry

What looks like waste is actually the beginning of regeneration. Composting takes food scraps, yard trimmings, and organic matter that would otherwise rot in landfills… and transforms them into nutrient-rich soil. In this alchemy, microbes, fungi, and worms break down leftovers into humus, a living material that feeds plants, improves water retention, and restores degraded soils.

Beyond the garden, composting is big business. Cities from San Francisco to Milan are scaling up programs to divert M of tons of organic waste each year, cutting methane emissions while creating jobs and agricultural inputs. Globally, experts see compost as a crucial tool for addressing both the waste crisis and soil depletion, offering a circular solution that starts at the community level. Every banana peel or coffee ground saved from the trash is a quiet act of ecosystem restoration.

Depleted Soils…Depleted YOU

The more I learn about Magnesium (Mg), the more I realize how powerful it is.

Unfortunately, our soils are so depleted, that if you don’t supplement, it’s almost certain you’re under-consuming for optimal levels.

It can get a little confusing that many common nutrients actually have multiple forms of the vitamin or mineral – and each form has unique pros and cons.

Most Mg supplements have only 1 or 2 forms, but taking a wider variety of magnesium forms means a broader spectrum of properties for supporting bodily functions.

I take 7 forms in 1 from BiOptimizers, and it’s led to noticeable improvements in anxiety, workouts, stress, sleep, energy, brain fog, focus, and more.

🍎 NUTRITION 101 🍎

PTEROSTILBENE: A powerful antioxidant naturally found in blueberries and grapes, often called the "better-absorbed cousin" of resveratrol. With its superior bioavailability, pterostilbene stays active in the body longer and may offer potent support for cellular repair, cognitive health, and healthy aging. Emerging research suggests it helps protect DNA from oxidative stress and supports brain and metabolic function, making this quiet compound a standout in the world of longevity nutrients.

Hormone Havoc: Everyday Endocrine Disruptors Hiding in Plain Sight

Ever feel like your body is out of sync? Maybe it’s fatigue that won’t lift, mood swings that seem out of character, or a gut feeling that something’s off hormonally... even when your labs come back “normal.”

What many people don’t realize is that our hormones (those microscopic messengers that govern everything from metabolism to sleep to fertility) are under constant assault. And not just from stress or diet. From objects we touch, air we breathe, water we drink, and even the clothes on our backs.

It’s not about paranoia. It’s about awareness. Because a growing body of research shows that endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are hiding in plain sight…and making a real impact.
