š© BYE BYE, FOOD DYE: West Virginiaās Senate passed legislation to ban several synthetic food preservatives as well as āred dye 3, red 40, yellow 5, yellow 6, blue 1, blue 2 and green 3 from foods and drinks. The dyes have been linked to neurological and neurobehavioral issues in children,ā says the WV Legislatureās press release, which you can read here. Though final House approval is still upcoming, the bans are slated to take effect Jan 1, 2028.

š° UTAH BANS FLUORIDE: Whatās in your tap water? New legislation in Utah will take effect in May, making it the first U.S. state to ban fluoride from being added to public water supplies. The chief sponsor of the bill stated āI believe in individual choice when it comes to what prescriptions we put into our bodies and fluoride is federally regulated as a prescription.ā 63% of Americans have fluoride in their water. š FISH DOORBELL: The āfish doorbell seasonā has opened in the Dutch city of Utrecht for its fifth year in a row. In order to assist fish in making their spring migration through the often dammed canals and rivers in Holland, this virtual doorbell was established to allow visitors to keep their eye on the underwater cam, andā ding dong!ā alert the lock keeper to open the gate for fish passage. 3M people tuned in last year from all over the world to ring the doorbell.
