🐿️ CREATURE FEATURE 🐿️

Sea Angel (Clione)
The sea angel looks like a tiny, transparent “winged” creature, found in the deep cold ocean. It’s actually a shell-less sea snail that flaps two wing-like lobes, almost like it is flying underwater. If you want to see more cool pictures up close and why it’s called an angel, click into these sea angel PHOTOS and info.
Sea angels look cute, but are predators that hunt other swimming snails called sea butterflies. To see it ‘flying’ underwater in action, check out these quick VIDEOS. Our world is a wondrous place.
WORD OF THE WEEK
Palustrine: Of or relating to marshes, swamps, and other wetland habitats.
One night. Instant Fans.
Do you ever feel like your overhead LEDs can make your whole house feel like an office? That harsh, bright, and weirdly “activating” light…especially disruptive at night.
That’s how I feel.
It’s quite simple to mitigate bad lighting effects (especially after sunset). Just swap out key bulbs in our home for circadian-friendly options. The change is immediate: warmer, calmer, and way easier on the eyes.
But it’s not just your eyes, it’s your entire physiology.
And at night, you can use blue-light-blocking bulbs designed to eliminate the blue and green wavelengths that can interfere with your sleep rhythm.
This has become one of those “why didn’t I do this sooner?” upgrades for me. We use them in the spaces where we wind down at night, and it’s honestly hilarious how often guests comment within minutes. Without fail, someone asks, “Wait… what lighting is this?” Quickly followed by: “Where do I get that?”
Experiencing it for one evening, and they’re converted. Every home should be set up this way.
If you want the exact bulbs I use (and the different options for daytime vs nighttime), click HERE to check out the BON CHARGE blue light blocking bulb collection.

Ultra-Processed Foods: What They Are and Why They Matter
We throw around the word “processed” like it’s automatically a bad thing. But processing itself is not the enemy.
If you slice an apple at home, that’s processing. If you cook rice, freeze vegetables, ferment yogurt, grind wheat into flour, or press olives into oil, that’s processing. Humans have been processing food for thousands of years. In many ways, it made food safer, more digestible, and more stable.
So the issue is not processed food.
The issue is ultra-processed food.
What Counts as Processed?
Basic processing includes things like:
Washing and chopping vegetables
Freezing fruit
Canning beans
Grinding nuts into nut butter
Fermenting foods like yogurt or sauerkraut
These methods alter food, yes. But they don’t fundamentally change its structure beyond recognition. The food is still food.
What Makes Something Ultra-Processed?
Ultra-processed foods, often defined using the NOVA classification system, are industrial formulations made mostly or entirely from substances extracted from foods, modified in labs, and combined with additives designed to enhance flavor, texture, and shelf life.
