Inspiration, recipes, superfood, and tips for mind, body, and spirit
Happy September my friend,
Did you know September comes from the Latin word "septem," which means seven, because it was the seventh month in the old Roman calendar. It's called Harvest Month because it's when people gather crops like apples and tomatoes. It also has the Harvest Moon, which is the brightest full moon of the year. 25 fun facts about September.

šæ Alternative Medicine VS āIncurableā Disease
From a young age, most of us were taught that ārealā healing only comes through modern medicine. We see endless ads for pharmaceuticals (with those bizarre lists of side effects), and insurance only seems to cover drugs or surgery. But what if thereās just as much science (if not more) behind natural and alternative approaches to healing?
Thatās exactly what my longtime friend Nick Polizzi set out to uncover in his 9-part documentary series Proven: Healing Breakthroughs Backed By Science. Nick is one of the highest quality storytellers I know, and this series is a must-see.

Youāll discover:
Safe, science-backed therapies your doctor may never mention
Natural solutions for chronic conditions and everyday vitality
Simple ways to protect and restore your health
Itās not cost to watch for a limited time, and Iāll definitely be tuning in.
I know youāll find some treasures inside.
MONDAY MOTIVATION

š BE THE CHANGE: Biji-Biji Initiative in Malaysia is doing something amazing. They take discarded materials, like old banners, wood scraps, and electronics, and turn them into cool products like bags and furniture. But they donāt stop there. They also teach people how to do it themselves through workshops and open labs. It's recycling, upcycling, and skill-sharing all rolled into one.
š„ RECIPE OF THE WEEK: This Vegan Butternut Squash and Chickpea Stew is the perfect one-pot meal. Itās cozy, comforting, and full of flavor. You start by sautĆ©ing onion, garlic, and ginger in olive oil. Add diced butternut squash, canned chickpeas, a pinch of cinnamon, smoked paprika, and a little chili for heat. Pour in veggie broth and a spoonful of tomato paste. Let it simmer until everythingās soft and thick. Stir in spinach at the end for a pop of green. Itās hearty, naturally sweet, and totally nourishing. Great with rice, quinoa, or even a slice of crusty sourdough.
š« SUPERFOOD SPOTLIGHT: Sea buckthorn are tiny, bright-orange berries rich in vitamināÆC (even more than oranges). It even includes the rare omegaā7, along with abundant antioxidants that support skin health, immune strength, heart function, and digestion. Theyāve got a vibrant tart juice which makes a beautiful and nutritious addition to smoothies, dressings, or desserts. Learn more about its uses and benefits here

š§ MIND: We all have that voice in our head that criticizes or questions everything. But what if you named it? Giving your inner critic a silly name like āGrumpy Gregā or āNervous Nancyā, makes it easier to step back from those thoughts. Itās a trick rooted in cognitive psychology. When you identify the voice as separate from your true self, it loses power. Next time self-doubt creeps in, remind yourself that you arenāt the problem:āGregā just needs a snack and a nap.
šæ BODY: You donāt need to hit the gym to feel good in your body. Try a posture reset instead. Set a timer every hour. When it goes off, stand up, roll your shoulders back, and take three deep breaths. Thatās it. Just realigning your spine and expanding your chest can increase blood flow and help with fatigue. It might sound basic, but these micro-movements really add up, especially if youāre glued to a screen all day.
š SPIRIT: Have you ever taken a ālistening walkā? Leave the music at home, donāt call anyone, and just walk slowly. Pay attention to every sound, birds, the wind, distant voices, and your own footsteps. Itās a quiet practice, but strangely profound. Youāll start to notice how loud your thoughts are, and how rare it is to simply listen. Give it ten minutes this week. The world has a lot to say when we finally stop talking.

Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.
