Inspiration, recipes, superfood, and tips for mind, body, and spirit
Happy Monday my friend,
🍁 Happy Fall to our Northern readers, and happy Spring to our Southern Hemisphere friends! In the fall, it’s a season of transition, of letting go, and often, a time when our bodies ask for deeper support and balance. Don’t be afraid to slow down, shut off social media, read or meditate a bit more, and remember it’s not “selfish” to rest.

MONDAY MOTIVATION

🌎 BE THE CHANGE: We have Boyan Slat, the young Dutch inventor behind The Ocean Cleanup. At just 18, he launched the idea to tackle ocean plastic pollution using floating barriers powered by ocean currents. People laughed at first. Now? His system is removing thousands of kilos of waste from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and around the world. What’s inspiring is not just the innovation, but the audacity. One teenager with a sketchbook decided the ocean was worth saving and took action. If that doesn’t light a spark in you, I don’t know what will.
🥗 RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Check out these Sweet Potato Black Bean Tacos, a weeknight hero that’s all kinds of satisfying. Roast cubed sweet potatoes in olive oil, cumin, smoked paprika, and chili powder until tender. Warm up black beans with garlic and a dash of lime. Load them into corn tortillas, and top with avocado slices, red cabbage slaw, and a drizzle of chipotle mayo or lime tahini. These tacos are smoky, spicy, creamy, and crunchy in every bite.
🥦 SUPERFOOD SPOTLIGHT: Shining a light on one of my favorites: hemp seeds. These soft, nutty little seeds are loaded with omega-3s, protein, and magnesium. No, they won’t get you high: hemp is totally safe and legal to eat. Toss them on salads, blend them into smoothies, or stir them into oatmeal for a creamy texture. Plus, they’re super easy to digest, unlike some other seeds. Check out the hemp seed benefits.

🧠 MIND: Have you heard of "decision fatigue"? It’s that mental exhaustion you feel after making too many choices in a day, even small ones like what to wear or what to eat. When your brain is overloaded with decisions, your focus, willpower, and creativity take a hit. That’s why successful people like former presidents and Steve Jobs wore the same thing daily, as they claim it was to save energy for other work. One way to beat decision fatigue? Create simple routines. Meal prep your lunches, plan outfits the night before, or keep a consistent morning schedule. Less clutter in your mind means more clarity where it counts.
🌿 BODY: You’ve heard of rest days from workouts, but how about a movement day as a break from sitting? If you work at a desk, set a timer for every hour to do 2 minutes of light stretching, squats, or even just a brisk walk around the room. Your lymphatic system depends on movement, and your joints will thank you. You don’t need a gym. You just need a reason to move, and this is it.
💖 SPIRIT: When was the last time you really did nothing? Not scrolled, not planned, not filled the silence. Just... sat. Stared out a window. Listened to your breath. Stillness is uncomfortable at first, but it’s often the place where clarity begins. This week, give yourself permission to pause. The world will keep spinning. Your soul just might whisper something in the silence.

Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.”
