🚰 Fluoride narrative shifts, adaptogens, and cloud forests
Wildlife, ecosystems, language, nutrition, sustainable living, and personal recommendations
Happy Wednesday my friend,
Today’s Deep Dive takes a close look at water fluoridation, and the recent evidence which finally broke into mainstream media. As someone who spoke publicly about this for over a decade (even wrote a song about it), it’s comforting that the narrative is finally shifting.

The Axolotl
In the murky canals of Mexico City's ancient Lake Xochimilco, a fascinating creature known as the axolotl fights for survival. This unique salamander, also called the "Mexican walking fish," has captured the imagination of scientists and nature enthusiasts alike with its remarkable regenerative abilities.
Axolotls can regrow entire lost limbs, parts of their brain, and even their heart. This extraordinary capability has made them invaluable in scientific research, particularly in the fields of regenerative medicine and cancer studies.
Despite their biological significance, axolotls are critically endangered in the wild. Habitat loss, pollution, and the introduction of invasive species have decimated their population. Conservation efforts are underway to protect these remarkable amphibians, including habitat restoration and captive breeding programs. By preserving axolotls, we not only save a unique species but also maintain a valuable resource for scientific discovery.

Into the Cloud Forests
Perched high in the mountains of tropical and subtropical regions, cloud forests are among the most enchanting and mysterious ecosystems on Earth. These misty, high-altitude forests are characterized by persistent low-level cloud cover, creating a uniquely lush and biodiverse environment.
Cloud forests are home to an astonishing array of plant and animal life, many of which are found nowhere else on the planet. Epiphytes, such as orchids and bromeliads, thrive in these humid conditions, clinging to tree branches and creating miniature ecosystems of their own.
These forests play a crucial role in water regulation, capturing moisture from clouds and releasing it slowly into streams and rivers. However, cloud forests are under threat from changing ecosystem conditions and deforestation. As temperatures shift, the cloud layer is lifting, potentially disrupting the delicate balance of these water systems. Conservation efforts are vital to protect these "water towers of the world" and the countless species that depend on them.
In 2025, reduce your risk of death by 40%
Find a way to sauna as if your life depends on it.
Science shows…it kind of does. A JAMA 20-year study showed those who sauna 2-3X per week had a 24% lower risk of death. 4-7X per week had a 40% reduction compared to the control group!
Access is often the hurdle, so the portability and simplicity of the Infrared Sauna Blanket from Bon Charge is a game-changer.
Now you can experience all the advantages conveniently and more affordably in the comfort of your own home. Sauna therapy is a scientifically proven method to enhance longevity and improve health.
You can literally sit on the couch, watching a movie, and experience the release of toxins, improved blood circulation, and torching of stubborn calories.
As an Earth Conscious Life reader you can get a big 20% off sitewide.

ADAPTOGENS: Adaptogens are a class of herbs and mushrooms that have gained popularity in recent years for their potential to help the body resist stressors of all kinds, whether physical, chemical, or biological. These natural substances are believed to promote balance in the body's physiological processes, potentially improving resilience to stress and supporting overall well-being.
Some well-known adaptogens include ashwagandha, rhodiola, and holy basil. Research suggests that these compounds may help regulate cortisol levels, boost energy, and enhance cognitive function. While more studies are needed to fully understand their effects, adaptogens offer an intriguing avenue for those seeking natural ways to support their health in our fast-paced world.
📝 RIANA’S REFLECTIONS 📝
Riana here (Rob’s wife)! Did you know that as part of our stress response, our bodies regenerate layers of cells within? Our skin cells renew every 30 days, the quality of our blood cells regenerate every 120 days, and even our bone matrix renews every 10 years.
So make sure you’re supplying yourself with adequate boron, calcium, magnesium, and Vitamin D to support bone health.
What impedes these processes? As Dr. Libby Weaver explains in one of the lectures inside my IIN training program, the body can’t restore, be calm, or be patient effectively with a high intake of refined sugars, caffeine, alcohol, or stimulants – it’s very challenging on a physiological nervous system level.
Restorative sleep, reducing sedentary behaviors, and diaphragm belly breathing are all ways to assist our nervous system response. What baby steps can you and your family take this month to support your body’s stress response?

The Fluoride Debate: New Research on IQ and Public Health Implications
For decades, water fluoridation has been hailed as a public health triumph. The CDC even called it one of the greatest public health achievements of the 20th century.
So last week it was a bit surreal for us fluoride activists to see a headline like this:
I wanted to give you the latest developments in the fluoride controversy, and what you need to know for your own life to protect both your oral health and your overall health.
